Stony Brook Defeats No. 4 Syracuse; Week 2 #AEWLAX Awards Announced
BOSTON – Stony Brook made a statement win over No. 4 Syracuse, 17-16 and won their home opener against Ohio State, 20-7. Stony Brook freshman Kailyn Hart appeared on the Sports Center Top 10 plays twice in one week with behind-the-back goals. In this week's IWLCA DI Coaches Poll the Seawolves jump up to No. 5.

Offensive Player of the Week
Ally Kennedy, Stony Brook – Sr., Midfielder, North Babylon, N.Y.
- Scored 8 goals in a 2-0 week for Stony Brook; helped the No. 12 Seawolves defeat No. 4 Syracuse.
- Also had 18 draw controls, 9 shots on goal, 4 assists, a ground ball and a caused turnover.
- This is Kennedy’s fifth career Offensive Player of the Week honor.
Defensive Player of the Week
Kameron Halsall, Stony Brook – So., Goalkeeper, Caledon, Ontario, Canada
- Made 11 saves for the Seawolves and helped defeat No. 4 Syracuse.
- Also had 4 ground balls
- This is McLaughlin’s first career Defensive Player of the Week honor.
Rookie of the Week
Kailyn Hart, Stony Brook – Fr., Attack, North Babylon, N.Y.
- Scored 6 goals in a 2-0 week for Stony Brook.
- Recorded her college career first hat trick against Ohio State.
- Also had 7 shots on goal and 2 assists.
- This is Hart’s first career Rookie of the Week honor.
