Week #2 #AEMLAX Awards Handed Out
BOSTON – A
ll eight #AEMLAX programs’ seasons’ are underway and Stony Brook picked up its first win of the year with a thrilling overtime win over St. John’s.
Eight more games take place this week, including five teams playing at home as UAlbany, Binghamton, Hartford, Stony Brook and Vermont will host games on Saturday.
Here are the conference's second weekly award winners of the 2019 season:
#AEMLAX Weekly Award Winners – Feb. 17
Offensive Player of the Week
Caleb Pearson, Stony Brook – So., Midfielder, Langley, B.C.
- Scored six goals in a pair of games last week.
- Netted the game winner in overtime of Stony Brook’s 13-12 win over St. John’s on Tuesday.
- Had four scores against Fairfield on Saturday.
- This is Pearson’s first career Offensive Player of the Week honor.
Defensive Player of the Week
Ryan Lovell, Hartford – Sr., Midfielder, Wakefield, Mass.
- Collected a career-high eight ground balls vs. St. John’s on Saturday.
- Also had four caused turnovers.
- This is Lovell’s first Defensive Player of the Week award.
Rookie of the Week
Graydon Hogg, UAlbany – Fr., Midfielder, Oshawa, Ont.
- Totaled four points on two goals and two assists vs. #12 Cornell on Saturday.
- Also added two ground balls and two caused turnovers.
- This is Hogg’s first career Rookie of the Week honor.
