New Hampshire Women, UMBC Men Sit Atop Day 2 #AESD Standings
Worcester, Mass. – After two days of competition at the 2020 America East Swimming and Diving Championships, New Hampshire women (345 points) and UMBC men (359 points) sit atop the standings. 15 events have been completed and 25 more will take place in the following two days.

Day 2 Highlights
- New Hampshire’s Allison Stefanelli won the 3 meter for the third consecutive year. The senior swept both diving events this weekend, scoring 244.65 in tonight’s final.
- Anna Metzler of New Hampshire repeated as the women’s 500-yard freestyle champion and set a new #AESD record clocking in at 4:46.95.
- UMBC junior Kai Wisner won the men’s 500 free in a time of 4:27.66.
- For the third straight year, New Hampshire senior Corinne Carbone won the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:00.14, while UMBC’s Luka Zuric took gold with a time of 1:49.10.
- UMBC’s senior Ilia Rattsev continues his winning streak in the 50 yard free as he captured gold for the third straight year. Rattsev touched the wall in a time of 20.04.
- Maine’s senior Emma Blair won the women’s 50 yard free with a time of 23.47.
- The Vermont Catamounts touched the wall at 1:35.16 in the 200-yard freestyle relay earning gold and UMBC won the men’s 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:21.35.
Day 3 events begin at 10:00 a.m. with trials in 11 events, men’s and women’s 400 Individual Medley, 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard freestyle, 100 yard breaststroke, 100-yard backstroke and men’s 1 meter diving. Finals begin at 5:00 p.m. and the entire day of competition can be streamed live on AmericaEast.TV
