Stony Brook Holds Longest Win Streak in Country, Maine Sweeps #AEHoops Awards
BOSTON – With wins over UMass Lowell and New Hampshire, Stony Brook (RV) has stretched its win streak to 20 games – the longest active win streak in the nation. Following Saturday’s win, the Seawolves clinched a top-four seed in the #AEPlayoffs and a home quarterfinal game.
Stony Brook (11-0), UMass Lowell (8-3), Maine (7-4) and Binghamton (5-5) currently lead the top-half of the standings with about three weeks left in the regular season. The Black Bears and UMBC joined Stony Brook as the three teams to win two games last week.
For the second-straight year the top eight teams in the standings will earn #AEPlayoffs berths with the top four teams securing home quarterfinal games.

Here are the conference’s week #14 women’s basketball awards of the 2019-20 season:
Player of the Week
Maeve Carroll, Maine – Jr., Forward, Oakton, Va.
- Led Maine to a 2-0 week behind 21.5 points per game and 14.5 rebounds per game.
- Carroll scored a career-high 24 points while matching a career-high with 15 rebounds in the Black Bears' overtime win over Binghamton on Sunday.
- This is her first career Player of the Week award.
Rookie of the Week
Anne Simon, Maine – Fr., Guard, Sandweiler, Luxembourg
- Averaged 22.5 points per game on 54 percent shooting in a pair of wins.
- Simon filled out the box score against the Bearcats with 23 points, five steals, four rebounds and three assists.
- This is her fourth Rookie of the Week award in the last six weeks and fifth overall.
