UMass Lowell Sweeps 1st #AEMLAX Awards as 2020 Season Starts

BOSTON – Three #AEMLAX programs got their 2020 seasons underway over the weekend and UMass Lowell came away with its first win of the year. The other four programs all start their campaigns this week as the 2020 season begins in full.  
 
Eight games take place this week, highlighted by defending champion UMBC taking on Georgetown in its first game of the season on Saturday.
Here are the conference's first weekly award winners of the 2020 season:
 
#AEMLAX Weekly Award Winners – Feb. 10
Offensive Player of the Week
Dakota Clark, UMass Lowell – So., Midfielder, Bedford, N.H.
  • Scored four goals in UMass Lowell’s 10-9 win over Quinnipiac.
  • This is Clark’s first career Offensive Player of the Week honor.
Defensive Player of the Week
Hunter Braun, UMass Lowell – So., Goalkeeper, Hartland, Mich.
  • Made 10 saves, including seven in the second half, to help lead UMass Lowell to a 10-9 win over Quinnipiac.
  • Also had two caused turnovers.
  • This is Braun’s first Defensive Player of the Week award and third of his career.
Rookie of the Week
Conor Foley, UMass Lowell – Fr., Attack, Walpole, Mass.
  • Had a goal and an assist in his first collegiate game.
  • This is Foley’s first career Rookie of the Week honor.
