BOSTON – Vermont and UMBC both posted two wins last week as the Catamounts extended their win streak to nine with wins over Maine and Hartford and UMBC, winner of four of its last six, beat Hartford and UMass Lowell. UAlbany and New Hampshire also went unbeaten last week, each winning its lone contest.

With just over three weeks left in the regular season, Vermont sits atop the standings at 9-1, ahead of Stony Brook (7-3), UAlbany (6-3), Hartford (6-4), New Hampshire (4-5), UMBC (4-6), Maine (3-7), UMass Lowell (3-7) and Binghamton (2-8).

The top eight teams in the standings will earn #AEPlayoffs berths with the top four teams garnering home quarterfinal games. Getting off to a strong start is crucial as only four times in the league’s 40-year history has a team finished outside the top two in the final regular-season standings and gone on to win the conference championship.
