Hartford Sweeps Conference Series, UMBC's Esadah Earns Weekly Nod

BOSTON – The second full week of conference play in America East women’s basketball concluded on Tuesday as Hartford completed a sweep of New Hampshire. The Hawks were the only team to win both games last week.
 
The week included three one-possession games in league play and another that was put out of reach with a few late free throws. Full schedule/results
 
For the first time this season, five series are scheduled for this upcoming week. UMBC will host Stony Brook, UAlbany hosts Vermont, Binghamton plays host to Hartford, NJIT welcomes UMass Lowell and Maine brings the nation’s fourth-longest win streak to New Hampshire. Player of the Week
Juliet Esadah, UMBC – Gr., Forward, Henrico, Va.
  • Averaged 18.0 points and 8.0 rebounds in 1-1 series split with Binghamton.
  • Shot 65% on the week and led the Retrievers to victory with a double-double in the series opener.
  • This is Esadah’s first career #AEHoops award.
Rookie of the Week
Anna Olson, Vermont – Fr., Forward, Monticello, Minn.
  • Averaged 12.0 points and 5.0 rebounds in two conference road games.
  • Olson dished out a team-high four assists in Saturday’s win to draw a series split with NJIT.
  • This is her second consecutive Rookie of the Week award and second overall.
