UMBC Riding Four-Game Win Streak with #AEHoops Play Set to Start

BOSTON – UMBC won all three of its games last week to extend its win streak to four games. The Retrievers posted wins over George Washington, Delaware and Coppin State and will head into league play at 4-1. Hartford is the other hot #AEHoops squad as the Hawks have won three in a row.

Full scale conference play is scheduled to begin this weekend with three series on Saturday-Sunday as UAlbany hosts UMBC, Binghamton entertains Stony Brook and Maine visits Hartford. Player of the Week
Daniel Akin, UMBC – Sr., Forward, London, England
  • Averaged 14.3 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in a 3-0 week for UMBC.
  • Shot 82 percent from the field (18-of-22).
  • Had 19 points, nine rebounds and three blocks in a win over Atlantic 10-foe George Washington on Monday.
  • This is Akin’s first career #AEHoops Player of the Week honor.
