Four Programs Awarded #AETF Week #5 Honors

BOSTON – In the final weekend of January, New Hampshire swept Maine and Vermont in Durham behind 160 points from the men and 226 from the women. A bevy of student-athletes competed at the Boston University John Thomas Terrier Classic at the site of the 2020 America East Indoor Track and Field Championships.
 
Here are the conference's week #5 award winners of the 2019-20 season:

#AETF Weekly Award Winners – Jan. 28
Female Track Performer of the Week
Amanda Stead, Stony Brook – Jr., Sprints, Miller Place, N.Y.
  • Completed the 500-meter dash at the John Thomas Terrier Classic in 1:13.72.
  • She crossed the finish line third and now holds the conference’s best time in the event this season.
  • This is Stead's first Performer of the Week award of the indoor season.
 
Male Track Performer of the Week
Dan Schaffer, Binghamton – Jr., Distance, Endwell, N.Y.
  • Currently ranks third in Division I in the 3,000-meter run after last weekend’s performance.
  • Schaffer finished fourth at the Boston University Terrier Classic in 7:58.22.
  • This is his second #AETF weekly honor in three weeks.
 
Female Field Performer of the Week
Shelby Bigsby, UAlbany – So., Throws, Monclair, N.J.
  • Placed fourth in the weight throw at the Dr. Sander Columbia Challenge.
  • Bigsby cleared 58’9.25” to lead America East in the event.
  • This is her first Performer of the Week award this season.
 
Male Field Performer of the Week
Terrel Davis, Hartford – Sr., Jumps, Beacon, N.Y.
  • Touched the sand at 24’6.5” in the long jump at the Terrier Classic.
  • His jump leads the conference and also broke a school record.
  • This is Davis’s second Performer of the Week nod of the season.
