Stony Brook Unanimous #AEWLAX Preseason Favorite
Stony Brook is the unanimous America East favorite. It’s the eighth-straight year Stony Brook has been tabbed the preseason choice by the conference’s head coaches, who were not permitted to vote for their own team.
Stony Brook, which is tied at No. 12 in the preseason national poll after going 16-5 last season, received all seven possible first-place votes and 49 points. UAlbany came in second with 42 points and the final first-place vote, while New Hampshire earned 35 points.

Preseason All-Americans Ally Kennedy (Stony Brook) and Taryn Ohlmiller (Stony Brook headline the top returnees in the conference along with reigning Offensive Player of the Year Madison Conway (UAlbany) and reigning Rookie of the Year Hailey Carroll (UAlbany) and returning first-team All-Conference selections Sam Tortora (UAlbany), Kyla Zapolski (UAlbany), Imani Hedgeman (UAlbany), Jordyn Marr (UAlbany) and Siobhan Rafferty (Stony Brook).
The 2020 campaign begins the weekend of Feb. 8 with UAlbany and Vermont headlining opening weekend. Full Composite Schedule
The top four teams in the conference standings will qualify for the America East Women’s Lacrosse Championship, which will be held at tournament's No. 1 seed. The semifinals take place on April 30 and the championship tilt on May 2. The winner will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship, where #AEWLAX teams have combined to win 12 games all time, including Stony Brook advancing to the quarterfinals in 2017 & 2018.
