Four Programs Take Home #AETF Week #4 Awards

BOSTON – America East track and field programs were dispersed between eleven different meets last weekend. Vermont and New Hampshire were among the few squads competing in meets that included team scoring with the former sweeping at Middlebury Winterfell. The Wildcats topped Holy Cross in the men’s meet.
 
Here are the conference's week #4 award winners of the 2019-20 season:

#AETF Weekly Award Winners – Jan. 21
Female Track Performer of the Week
Kaley Richards, UMass Lowell – Sr., Distance, Lowell, Mass.
  • Won the mile at the Boston University Multi-Team Meet.
  • Her time of 4:45.18 ranks fifth nationally.
  • This is her second consecutive Performer of the Week award.
 
Male Track Performer of the Week
John Benner, Vermont – Sr., Distance, Needham, Mass.
  • Won the 1,000-meter at Middlebury Winterfell.
  • His adjusted time of 2:26.23 ranks first in the conference.
  • This is his first #AETF weekly honor of the season.
 
Female Field Performer of the Week
Katherine Cowan, Maine – So., Multis, Haverhill, N.H.
  • Won the pentathlon at the Bates Invitational.
  • Her 3,281 points rank first in America East.
  • This is the first Performer of the Week award of her career.
 
Male Field Performer of the Week
Zach Astle, New Hampshire – Sr., Throws, Newbury, N.H.
  • Won both throwing events to help UNH to victory in a dual meet against Holy Cross.
  • Astle leads the conference in both the shot put and the weight throw.
  • This is his first Performer of the Week nod of the season.
