BOSTON – #AEVB teams began conference play on Friday highlighted by the Hawks defeating reigning #AEVB champions Stony Brook 3-1. UAlbany and Hartford start league play 1-0.

#AEVB Weekly Award Winners – Oct. 1

Player of the Week
Jenna Bridges, Hartford – Sr., MB, Exeter, RI
  • Had 42 kills and averaged 6 kills per set in 2-0 week.
  • Had a career day registering a career-high 31 kills with two errors in 47 attempts and hit .617.
  • Also added 10 blocks, 8 assists and 3 digs.
  • This is Bridges’ seventh career Player of the Week honor.
Setter of the Week
Megan Anderson, Hartford – Jr., S, Orono, MN
  • Tallied 95 assists averaging 13.57 per set.
  • Recorded a career-high 58 assists in a four-set victory against Stony Brook.
  • Also had 6 digs, 4 blocks, 4 assists and 2 service aces.
  • This is Anderson’s sixth career Setter of the Week award. 
Defensive Specialist of the Week
Charlotte Macken, UAlbany – Soph., L/DS, Clifton Park, NY
  • Recorded 29 digs averaging 5.8 digs per set in 1-0 week.
  • Also had 3 assists and a service ace.
  • This is Macken’s first career Defensive Specialist of the Week honor.
Co-Rookie of the Week
Maddie Lindsay, Hartford – Fr., OH, Lehi, Utah
  • Recorded 23 kills averaging 3.29 kills per set.
  • Had 16 digs averaging 2.29 digs per set.
  • Also added 4 blocks, 4 service aces and 3 assists.
  • This is Lindsay’s fourth career Rookie of the Week honor.
Co-Rookie of the Week
Riley Putnicki, UMBC – Fr., S, Monument, Colo.
  • Had a career-high 48 assists averaging 9.6 per set.
  • Had a career-high 12 digs averaging 2.4 per set.
  • Also added a kill and a block.
  • This is Putnicki’s first career Rookie of the Week honor.
