UNH Enters National Rankings at #22, 1st #AEMSOC Weekly Awards Announced
BOSTON – All eight #AEMSOC programs kicked off their 2019 seasons over the weekend headlined by New Hampshire posting wins over a pair of perennial regional powers. The Wildcats beat Boston University and Providence and entered this week’s United Soccer Coaches’ Top 25 this week at #22 as a result. This is the third-straight year UNH has been nationally ranked and the sixth year in a row at least one #AEMSOC squad has been ranked.
Ten games take place this week, highlighted by New Hampshire taking on Colgate on Friday in a rematch of last year’s first-round NCAA tournament contest.

#AEMSOC Weekly Award Winners – Sept. 3
Offensive Player of the Week
Noah Luescher, Binghamton – Jr. Midfielder, Meisterschwanden, Switzerland
- Scored both goals in Binghamton’s season-opening 2-1 win over Drexel on Friday.
- This is Leuscher’s second career Offensive Player of the Week honor.
Defensive Player of the Week
Alejandro Robles, New Hampshire – Sr., Goalkeeper, Monterey, Mexico
- Recorded a shutout in his Wildcat debut as UNH beat former America East rival Boston University, 1-0.
- Made two stops.
- This is Robles’ first career Defensive Player of the Week award.
Rookie of the Week
Rasmus Tobinski, Vermont – Fr., Forward, Kiel, Germany
- Scored the lone goal, the first of his career, in a 1-0 win over DePaul Sunday.
- Named to Chicago Classic All-Tournament team.
- This is Tobinski’s first career Rookie of the Week honor.
