#AEWSOC League Play Begins Sunday; Week #4 Awardees Honored

BOSTON – Several #AEWSOC teams are rounding into form with the start of conference play on the horizon. Binghamton won twice last week to improve to 6-2-0. The Bearcats’ six non-conference wins match their most ever at the Division I level. UAlbany also won a pair of games last week and is unbeaten in its last three games.

Eight teams kick off league play this weekend highlighted by Hartford visiting UAlbany in rematch of last year’s #AEWSOC championship semifinal contest. The other matchups include Binghamton hosting Vermont, New Hampshire visiting UMBC and Maine entertaining Stony Brook.
Here are the conference's week #4 award winners of the 2019 season:
 
#AEWSOC Weekly Award Winners – Sept. 16
Offensive Player of the Week
Ivana Pjetri, Binghamton – Jr. Midfielder, Yorktown, N.Y.
  • Assisted on all three of Binghamton’s goals in a pair of wins last week.
  • Set up the lone goal in a 1-0 victory over Wagner on Friday.
  • Assisted on both scores in a 2-1 win over Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday.
  • This is Pjetri’s first career Offensive Player of the Week honor.
Defensive Player of the Week
Cat Sheppard, New Hampshire – So., Goalkeeper, Nesconset, N.Y.
  • Recorded a 0.50 GAA and .923 save percentage while making 12 saves in two games last week.
  • Had six stops in a shutout win over Army on Sunday.
  • This is Sheppard’s first career Defensive Player of the Week award.
Rookie of the Week
Doireann Fahey, Hartford – Fr., Forward, Kildare, Ireland
  • Had a goal and an assist in Hartford’s win over Delaware State on Sunday.
  • This is Fahey’s first career Rookie of the Week honor.
