'AE on ESPN' Enters Fourth Year with Nearly 40 Live Events on ESPN+ and ESPN3 this Fall
BOSTON – Set for the fourth year of producing live content directly for ESPN networks, 39 America East games will stream live on ESPN+ and ESPN3 this fall, prior to every #AEHoops game being available during the 2019-20 season. The AE on ESPN is the home to more than 3,000 games from a variety of sports over the span of a decade.
The 2019 fall slate will include 39 events across four sports: women’s soccer (17), men’s soccer (13), volleyball (5) and field hockey (4). The majority of those games (27) will air on ESPN+, the premium multi-sport, direct-to-consumer video service from The Walt Disney Company’s Direct-to-Consumer and International (DTCI) segment in conjunction with ESPN. The other 12 events will be carried on ESPN3. Binghamton, Maine, and New Hampshire will produce events this fall. Nearly every America East men’s and women's basketball game will air on ESPN+ or ESPN3 this winter.
Entering the fourth year of an 11-year agreement with ESPN, America East’s nine member institutions are working collaboratively with ESPN and the conference office to produce live broadcasts directly for ESPN+ and ESPN3. Over 800 school-produced events aired on ESPN3 and ESPN+ during the first three years, including 328 in 2018-19.
ESPN+: ESPN+ gives fans direct-to-consumer subscription streaming access to thousands of additional live events, on-demand content and original programming not available on ESPN’s TV or digital networks. In addition to America East, ESPN+ programming includes thousands of live college sports events – football, basketball, softball, baseball, volleyball, lacrosse and more – from other leading college conferences, including: Atlantic 10, Atlantic Sun, Big South, Conference USA, Horizon League, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Southern, Southland, Summit League, Sun Belt and The Ivy League.
ESPN3: ESPN3 is ESPN’s live multi-screen sports network that delivers thousands of exclusive sports events annually, at no additional cost to fans who access it using their “TV Everywhere” credentials from an affiliated high-speed Internet or video subscription provider.
Both ESPN+ and ESPN3 are accessible through the ESPN App on computers, smartphones, tablets and most major streaming devices, as well as through ESPN.com.
All contests not produced for ESPN+ or ESPN3 can be seen on AmericaEast.TV via the Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire and Android TV OTT channels. Additoinally, select ESPN+/ESPN3 events will be simulcast on AE.TV for international audiences.
About America East: The America East provides its member schools and their athletic programs a platform upon which student-athletes can achieve both collegiate and life success through the promotion and nurturing of athletic excellence, academic achievement and leadership, on and off the field.
