Stony Brook, N.Y. – For the seventh consecutive year, the top seeds will meet in the #AEWLAX championship game. Top-seeded Stony Brook advanced to their eighth-straight title game with a win over UMBC in the semifinals while No. 2 UAlbany clinched their ninth consecutive appearance after beating New Hampshire Thursday.
 
Stony Brook 17, New Hampshire 5 – Box Score
  • The Seawolves scored ten straight goals to take an 11-1 lead into halftime.
  • #AEWLAX Midfielder of the Year, Ally Kennedy highlighted Stony Brook’s win tying her career high 10 points on 6 goals and 4 assists.
  • Both Taryn Ohlmiller and Kari McCarthy finished with three goals apiece.
  • First Team All-Conference selection Siobhan Rafferty finished with two points.
  • Seven different Seawolves scored goals in Stony Brook’s win.
  • Stony Brook had a team total of 25 ground balls, 15 draw control wins and 12 caused turnovers.
  • Goalkeeper of the Year Anna Tesoriero made four saves on the afternoon.
  • The Seawolves outshot the Wildcats 35-16.
 
Albany 20, New Hampshire 16 – Box Score
  • Offensive Player of the Year – Madison Conway lead the Great Danes with 9 points on 6 goals and 3 assists.
  • Six different Great Danes scored goals in UAlbany’s win.
  • Three Great Danes scored more than three goals.
  • Rookie of the Year and First Team All-Conference selection, Hailey Carroll finished with 4 goals and 7 draw controls.
  • UAlbany’s goalkeepers Georgia Schnidereith and Erin Leghart made a total of 8 save on the afternoon.
  • UAlbany ended the first half with two goals in a row and came out on a five-goal run, extending their lead to 16-10 in the second half.
  • UAlbany outscored New Hampshire 33-28. The Great Danes also had a total of 21 draw controls, 15 ground balls and 5 caused turnovers.
 
Stony Brook and UAlbany will face off in the 2019 America East Women’s Lacrosse Championship at 4pm on Saturday, May 4 at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium in Stony Brook, N.Y. The action will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

The Seawolves will vie for their seventh-straight America East Women’s Lacrosse Championship, which would set a new conference record. UAlbany will play in its ninth championship game in program history as the Great Danes seek their first title since 2012 and third overall.
