Six Teams Secure Postseason Bids, Four Earn #AEBASE Weekly Honors
BOSTON – The padlock has been clamped on the locker containing the six teams who will play for the 2019 America East Baseball Championship. A sweep of UMBC by UMass Lowell was the deciding factor and ensured that Stony Brook, Binghamton, UAlbany, Hartford, Maine and UMass Lowell will begin their ascent for the trophy next week at Binghamton University.
Here are the final league matchups of the regular season, which will determine postseason seeds:
UMass Lowell (10-11) at Stony Brook (14-7)
Hartford (11-10) at UAlbany (11-9)
Binghamton (10-8) at Maine (10-10)

Co-Player of the Week
Oscar Marchena, UMass Lowell – Sr., INF, Miami, Fla.
- Slashed .500/.500/.583 in three-game sweep of UMBC to help the River Hawks clinch a playoff berth.
- Drove in four runs overall and scored a pair in the final two games.
- This is his first #AEBASE weekly honor of the season.
Co-Player of the Week
Chris Hamilton, Stony Brook – Jr., 1B, Schenectady, N.Y.
- Slashed .571/.556/.714 in a pair of non-conference wins for the Seawolves.
- Tallied a pair of RBI in both games, including the game-winning sacrifice fly in game two.
- This is the first #AEBASE weekly honor of the season for Hamilton.
Pitcher of the Week
Dominic Savino, UAlbany – Sr., RHP, Smithtown, N.Y.
- Pitched a complete game shutout in series opener against Binghamton.
- Allowed four hits and no walks while striking out five in the win.
- This is Savino’s first Pitcher of the Week award of the season and fourth of his career..
Rookie of the Week
Ryan Turenne, Maine – Fr., C, Lynn, Mass.
- Had four hits in ten at-bats in Maine’s series against Hartford.
- Turenne scored a pair of runs in game one win.
- This is the second consecutive Rookie of the Week nod for Turenne.
