Final #AETF Weekly Awards Announced as Focus Shifts to 2019 Championships

BOSTON – The final tune-ups before the 2019 America East Outdoor Track and Field Championships took place last weekend, including the Pre-Conference Invitational hosted by the University of New Hampshire. Beginning on Saturday, May the 4th, all nine programs will compete at the University at Albany for the 2019 men’s and women’s titles. The full two-day championship will be streamed on AmericaEast.tv.

Here are the conference’s final weekly awards of the season:
 
Female Track Performer of the Week
Hannah Reinhardt, UAlbany – Jr., Distance, Clarence, N.Y.
  • Finished second in the 3,000-meter run at Penn Relays.
  • Reinhardt’s time of 9:22.73 ranks fourth nationally.
  • This is her second outdoor #AETF award this year.
 
Male Track Performer of the Week
Vann Moffett, Stony Brook – Jr., Distance, Niantic, Conn.
  • Captured a fourth-place finish in the 5,000m at Penn Relays.
  • His time of 14:07.32 is second-best in America East in 2019.
  • This is Moffett's first Performer of the Week honor of the season.
 
Female Field Performer of the Week
Venique Harris, UAlbany – Sr., Throws, Portmore, Jamaica
  • Threw the discus 171’11” at Penn Relays.
  • The toss earned her third place and is farther than any #AETF student-athlete has thrown this season.
  • This is her third denomination this season.
 
Male Field Performer of the Week
Vladimir Popusoi, UMass Lowell – Gr., Pole Vault, Greenfield, Mass.
  • Won the pole vault at UNH, clearing 16’10.75”.
  • Popusoi’s mark broke the River Hawks record and leads the conference.
  • This is his second Field Performer of the Week award this season.
