Final #AEMLAX Awards Announced with League Championship Set to Start Thursday
BOSTON – The 2019 #AEMLAX regular season is complete with the attention turning to the America East Championship, which begins this week. Stony Brook is the top seed for the first time since 2012 after beating UAlbany on Friday. The Seawolves will host the tournament at LaValle Stadium welcoming #2 Vermont, #3 UAlbany and #4 UMBC, which earned the final bid with a win over Hartford Saturday, to Long Island. Action begins with the semifinals on Thursday with the championship game taking place Saturday.

Offensive Player of the Week
Trevor Patschorke, UMBC – So., Attack, Severna Park, Md.
- Scored a career-high five goals in UMBC’s key win over Hartford Saturday.
- The victory clinched a championship bid for the Retrievers.
- This is Patschorke’s first career #AEMLAX Offensive Player of the Week honor.
Defensive Player of the Week
Kevin Carbone, Binghamton – Jr., Goalkeeper, Huntington, N.Y.
- Stopped nine shots in Binghamton’s 9-7 win at UMass Lowell Friday.
- This is Carbone’s second-straight #AEMLAX Defensive Player of the Week honor and second of his career.
Co-Rookie of the Week
Kevin Winkoff, Binghamton – Fr., Attack/Midfield, Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y.
- Totaled 5 points, including 4 goals, in Binghamton’s win over UMass Lowell.
- This is Winkoff’s first career Rookie of the Week honor.
Co-Rookie of the Week
Austin Deskewicz, Stony Brook – Fr., Faceoff, Ballston Spa, N.Y.
- Won 12-of-16 faceoffs and totaled nine ground balls to help Stony Brook secure the regular-season title with a win over UAlbany Friday.
- This is Deskewicz’s first career Rookie of the Week honor.
