Stony Brook Sweeps Final #AEWLAX Weekly Awards

BOSTON – The final day of the regular season included a matchup that would determine the site of the 2019 #AEWLAX tournament. Stony Brook captured their seventh consecutive regular season title and will host the tournament at LaValle Stadium welcoming #2 UAlbany, #3 New Hampshire and #4 UMBC. Action begins with the semifinals on Thursday and the championship game taking place Saturday.

Ally Kennedy, Stony Brook - Jr., Attack, North Babylon, NY
  • Scored 10 goals in 2-0 week for the Seawolves.
  • Won a career-high 12 draw controls in win over Penn State.
  • Also had 2 ground balls and a caused turnover.
  • This is Kennedy's fourth Offensive Player of the Week honor of the year.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Anna Tesoriero, Stony Brook - Sr., Goalkeeper, Huntington, NY
  • Made 12 saves, had 5 ground balls and 5 caused turnovers in 2-0 week for Stony Brook.
  • Had a .500 save percentage in win against Penn State.
  • This is Tesoriero's fourth Defensive Player of the Week of the year.
Rookie of the Week
Sarah Pulis, Stony Brook - Fr., Midfield, Baldwin, NY
  • Career high four points (3G, 1A) in win over New Hampshire.
  • Also had 1 ground ball.
  • This is Pulis's first #AEWLAX Rookie of the Week honor.
