Hartford women's soccer student-athlete Magalie Kayrouz has been chosen as America East’s  student-athlete attendee for the upcoming NCAA Inclusion Forum. The opportunity was made possible through a scholarship provided by Forty-Nine Degrees, the conference’s preferred branding partner.

The 2019 NCAA Inclusion Forum takes place in Atlanta, Ga., from April 26-28. This eighth-annual gathering will offer useful knowledge, engaging dialogue, and practical takeaways to empower participants’ efforts on equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives on their campuses. Sessions will focus on core identities such as race/ethnicity, women/gender equity, LGTBQ, disability sport, and international students.

Kayrouz, a sophomore defender on Hartford’s soccer team, was a first-team All-Conference honoree for the Hawks this year. She is a two-time America East Commissioner’s Honor Roll recipient and holds a 3.97 GPA in entrepreneurial studies.

America East is dedicated to providing educational and leadership opportunities to its student-athletes. Just two weeks ago, a pair of student-athletes, UAlbany’s Kimberly Dieroff and Hartford’s Mark Barthelemy attended the NCAA Leadership Forum.

America East’s #3Pillars “leadership” umbrella aimed at making a difference for conference stakeholders, on league campuses and within their communities. Initiatives include #SpreadRespect, #BetterTo9ether, the America East Alumni Network and the #3Pillars Academy, which focuses on providing professional development opportunities to America East constituents through its digital series and in-person programming.

About America East: The America East provides its member schools and their athletic programs a platform upon which student-athletes can achieve both collegiate and life success through the promotion and nurturing of athletic excellence, academic achievement and leadership, on and off the field.
