Pair of Top 10K Finishes Highlight #AETF Weekly Awards
BOSTON – A full slate of competition that included UAlbany and Stony Brook hosting meets of their own was highlighted by several top-20 national marks. The attention now shifts to the final week of track and field before the 2019 America East Track and Field Championships. The conference’s pinnacle will take place May 4th and 5th and will be hosted by the University at Albany.

Here are the conference’s weekly awards:
Female Track Performer of the Week
Cara Sherman, UAlbany – Sr., Distance, Rotterdam, N.Y.
- Finished third in the 10,000-meter run at the Virginia Challenge.
- Sherman set the conference’s new top time in the event at 34:30.72.
- This is her first #AETF award this year.
Male Track Performer of the Week
Paul Hogan, UMass Lowell – Gr., Distance, Burlington, Mass.
- Ran the best 10K of his career, clocking in at 28:49.55.
- Hogan’s time ranks 16th nationally.
- This is his second Performer of the Week denomination in three weeks.
Female Field Performer of the Week
Anika Hibbard, UAlbany – Sr., High Jump, Bedford, N.Y.
- Won the high jump at the UAlbany Spring Classic.
- Her mark of 5’10.75” ranks 15th in Division I.
- This is her second #AETF honor this season.
Male Field Performer of the Week
Alexios Prodanas, UMBC – Jr., Throws, Kilkis, Greece
- Won the hammer throw at the Bucknell Team Challenge.
- His toss of 223’1” is top-16 in the nation.
- This is the second Field Performer of the Week for Prodanas this season and fifth this calendar year.
