Host Seeds Prevail in Women's #AEPlayoffs Quarterfinals
For the first time since 2011, the top-four seeds in the America East women’s basketball playoffs advanced to the semifinals. Under a new playoff format, the quarterfinals hosts all won on Wednesday night.
No. 1 Maine will host No. 4 UAlbany while No. 2 Hartford will host No. 3 Stony Brook in the semifinals on Sunday, March 10.

- Behind a single-game tournament record 23 steals, the Hawks advance to their 13th semifinals in the last 15 years.
- After UMBC held a 13-11 lead at the end of the first frame, Hartford went up by 10 at halftime.
- When the Retrievers pulled within four by the end of the third quarter, the Hawks turned it on, outscoring the visitors 22-9 in the final quarter.
- First Team All-Conference selection Lindsey Abed scored a game-high 21 points and was one of four Hawks with four steals.

- The Seawolves (23-7) got a career-high 21 points from sophomore India Pagan on 10-13 shooting.
- First Team All-Conference selection Shania Johnson set a new single game postseason record with 16 assists.
- It was the senior’s eighth double-double of the season.
- Fellow First Team All-Conference honoree Jerell Matthews scored 20 points, making six of her 10 three-point field goals.

- In a game that came down to the last few possessions, UAlbany advanced to its seventh-consecutive semifinals.
- Binghamton led by seven with under seven minutes remaining before the Great Danes re-took the lead with 1:20 left in the fourth quarter.
- The Great Danes got a balanced scoring attack and made enough free throws late to seal the victory.
- Alexi Schecter led the way with 13 points and nine rebounds.
