Three Teams Earn #AEBASE Week #3 Awards

BOSTON – More tough non-conference tests littered the schedules of America East baseball teams last weekend. UMass Lowell and Stony Brook battled top-25 opponents while UMBC took on Miami (Fla.).
 
Here are the conference’s #AEBASE weekly awards:
 
Player of the Week
Michael Wilson, Stony Brook – Jr., OF, Colonia, N.J.
  • Combined to go 5-for-10 with a pair of doubles against No. 13 Arkansas.
  • Drove in two runs and also scored a pair.
  • This is Wilson’s second Player of the Week nod this season and fourth of his career.
 
Pitcher of the Week
Nicholas Dombkowski, Hartford – So., LHP, West Springfield, Mass.
  • Struck out 10 batters in seven innings against Abilene Christian.
  • Did not allow an earned run on three hits while walking one.
  • Dombkowski earns Pitcher of the Week honors for the first time this season and second time in his career.
 
Rookie of the Week
Joshua Becker, UMass Lowell – Fr., RHP, Burlington, Mass.
  • Struck out eight in 4.2 innings against No. 5 North Carolina.
  • Allowed just one run on three hits and one walk.
  • This is his first career #AEBASE award.
