Maine, Hartford Earn Top Two Seeds in WBB #AEPlayoffs, Final Weekly Awards

BOSTON – The 2019 women's #AEPlayoffs bracket has been released and the top two seeds have earned the conference’s final weekly awards of the season. This year's All-Conference teams and major award winners will be announced on Tuesday ahead of four quarterfinals matchups Wednesday night.

Tanesha Sutton, Maine – Sr., Forward, Philadelphia, Pa.
  • Averaged 15.0 points and 9.5 rebounds in 2-0 week to help Maine secure its second-straight regular season title.
  • Had a double-double against UMass Lowell, shooting 73 percent.
  • It was her sixth double-double of the season.
  • This is Sutton's second consecutive Player of the Week honor.
 
Rookie of the Week
Sierra Smith, Hartford – Fr., Forward, Madison, Va.
  • Averaged 9.0 points per game in 2-0 week for the Hawks.
  • Made seven of her nine shots in the two games combined.
  • This is her first career #AEHoops weekly award.
