2019 Women's #AEPlayoffs Bracket Determined

BOSTON – After the conclusion of the regular season on Saturday, the women’s #AEPlayoffs bracket is set in stone. For the first time in over 20 years, the excitement of the America East Women’s Basketball Championship will be heading to America East campuses.

Quarterfinal and semifinal games will be hosted by the top-four seeds and will be broadcast on ESPN+. The 2019 #AEPlayoffs title game will appear on ESPNU at the highest remaining seed. For more information, visit Championship Central.

 
  1. Maine (22-7, 15-1 AE) – Won the regular season title outright for the second consecutive year. It is their conference-best 16th regular season title and fourth in the last five years.
  2. Hartford (21-9, 14-2 AE) – Top-2 seed for the first time since 2010, when the Hawks earned an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament. 
  3. Stony Brook (22-7, 11-5 AE) – Earns the #3 seed for the first time since 2015; most total wins since 2013-14.
  4. UAlbany (12-17, 9-7 AE) – Ninth consecutive season with at least nine league wins.
  5. Binghamton (12-17, 7-9 AE) – Fourth-straight year securing a top-five seed in the postseason.
  6. Vermont (11-17, 7-9 AE) – Most league wins since 2009-10.
  7. UMBC (10-19, 3-13 AE) – Seeking its first semifinals appearance since 2015.
  8. New Hampshire (6-23, 3-13 AE) – Seeking third-straight win in quarterfinals.

Championship play will begin on Wednesday, March 6 with quarterfinal play. The four quarterfinal winners will square off in the semifinals on Sunday, March 10 at the two highest remaining seeds. The bracket will be re-seeded with the highest-remaining seed hosting the lowest-remaining seed and the second-highest remaining seed hosting the second-lowest remaining seed.

The two semifinal winners will play for the America East title and an automatic NCAA bid on March 15 at the highest remaining seed on ESPNU.
