Two Retrievers, a Great Danes Earn Week #5 #AESB Awards
BOSTON – UAlbany, Maine, UMBC, UMass Lowell and Stony Brook picked wins in #AESB action last weekend.
The majority of #AESB games will appear AmericaEast.TV, the place to watch free live content on any device, including the network's Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire and Android TV OTT channels. Select will air on ESPN+ or ESPN3, home to over 250 America East school-produced events this year.
Here are the conference's fifth weekly award winners of 2019:
Player of the Week
Kaly Winslow, UMBC – Jr., Infielder, Leesburg, Va.
- Hit .500 (5-for-10) and slugged 1.100 in a 3-1 week for UMBC.
- Belted a pair of home runs, drove in seven and scored four runs.
- This is her first career Player of the Week honor.
Pitcher of the Week
Miranda Jimenez, UAlbany – So., Pitcher, Riverside, Calif.
- Recorded a 2.27 ERA, while holding opponents to a .081 batting average in three appearances last week.
- Racked up 10 strikeouts and allowed just three hits across 12.1 innings of work.
- Didn’t allow a hit in a tough luck 1-0 loss to Norfolk State Sunday.
- This is her first career Pitcher of the Week honor.
Rookie of the Week
Courtney Coppersmith, UMBC – Fr., Pitcher, York Pa.
- Went 2-1 in the circle with 2 complete game shutouts in the circle.
- Struckout 19 over 16.2 innings while walking just 4 and allowing
- At the plate had a 1.000 OPS and two RBI.
- This is Coppersmith’s third Rookie of the Week honor of the season.
