Vermont and UMass Lowell Earn Week #4 Awards
BOSTON – Three #AEWLAX programs earned wins last week with UMass Lowell, New Hampshire, and Vermont picking up wins.
The majority of #AEWLAX games will appear AmericaEast.TV, the place to watch free live content on any device, including the network's Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire and Android TV OTT channels. Here are the conference's weekly award winners:
Offensive Player of the Week
Jenna Janes, Vermont - Sr., Attack, Baltimore, MD
- Had a career-high 7 points (5G, 2A) in win over East Carolina.
- Scored 5 goals on five shots on goal.
- Helped Vermont improve to 4-1 through 5 games for the first time since 2014.
- This is Janes's first Offensive Player of the Week honor of the year.
Defensive Player of the Week
Hana Caster, UMass Lowell - Jr., Defense/Midfield, North Attleboro, MA
- Recorded 8 caused turnovers, 7 draw controls and 6 ground balls in 1-1 week for UML.
- Also scored a goal in game vs Wagner.
- Leads the team in ground balls and caused turnovers this season
- This is Caster's first Defensive Player of the Week of the year.
Rookie of the Week
Grace Giancola, Vermont - So., Midfield, Canton, CT
- Won a game-high 9 draw controls.
- Also had 1 goal and 2 assists in Vermont’s win over ECU.
- This is Giancola’s first #AEWLAX Rookie of the Week honor.
