#AEMLAX Play Slated to Start, Week #5 Awards Announced

BOSTON – Conference play in #AEMLAX begins this weekend following week #5 of non-conference play. UMBC will host Vermont at noon while Stony Brook visits Hartford at 3 p.m. and UMass Lowell heads to UAlbany for a 3 p.m. faceoff.

The majority of #AEMLAX games will appear AmericaEast.TV, the place to watch free live content on any device, including the network's Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire and Android TV OTT channels. Here are the conference's fifth weekly award winners of 2019:

Offensive Player of the Week
Chris Pickel, Jr., Stony Brook - Jr., Attacker, Ronkonkoma, N.Y.
  • Tallied five goals during the two games last week.
  • Had the  the game-winning goal with 16 seconds remaining to down Bryant on Saturday.
  • Posted a hat trick in an overtime loss to Sacred Heart on Tuesday.
  • This is Pickel, Jr.'s first Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season and  of his career.
Defensive Player of the Week
Cam Hult, UMass Lowell – Jr., Defender, Nashua, N.H.
  • Tallied 11 ground balls and four caused turnovers and helped hold last week's opponents to 6.5 goals per game in a 2-0 week for UMass Lowell
  • This is Hult's first career Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Rookie of the Week
Liam McDonough, UMass Lowell - Fr., Faceoff Specialist, 
  • Helped UMass Lowell go 2-0 last week by picked up 20 ground balls and winning 65 percent of his faceoffs.
  • Went 18-for-25 with 12 ground balls and scored a goal in a win over Dartmouth Tuesday.
  • This is McDonough's first #AEMLAX Rookie of the Week honor.
