Three Programs Clinch Home Women's #AEPlayoffs Games; Weekly Awards Revealed

BOSTON – Entering the final week of the regular season, three teams have clinched a home game in the #AEPlayoffs. Maine (13-1), Hartford (12-2) and Stony Brook (9-5) will all host quarterfinal games on Wednesday, March 6. The full playoff bracket will be released on Saturday evening.

Co-Player of the Week
Tanesha Sutton, Maine – Sr., Forward, Philadelphia, Pa.
  • Scored 28 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in Maine’s win over Stony Brook Sunday.
  • Sutton made 11 of her 16 field goal attempts.
  • It was her fifth double-double of the season and her 28 points ties a career high.
  • This is her first Player of the Week honor this season and second of her career.
 
Co-Player of the Week
Jade Young, Hartford – So., Guard, Philadelphia, Pa.
  • Averaged 16.0 points and 11.5 rebounds per game in 2-0 week for the Hawks.
  • Grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds against New Hampshire.
  • Led the way with 17 points, ten rebounds, six assists and four steals against UMass Lowell.
  • This is the second time Young has earned Player of the Week this season.
 
Rookie of the Week
Ivy Gogolin, New Hampshire – Fr., Forward, Hopkinton, Mass.
  • Scored 23 points in the Wildcats’ lone game of the week, matching her career high.
  • Shot 71 percent from the floor in a close road game at Hartford.
  • Secured five rebounds and added a pair of steals.
  • This is her first career #AEHoops weekly award.
