Four #AEMLAX Teams Earn Wins, Week #3 Awards Announced
BOSTON – Four #AEMLAX programs earned wins last week with UAlbany, UMBC, Stony Brook and Vermont picking up wins.
The majority of #AEMLAX games will appear AmericaEast.TV, the place to watch free live content on any device, including the network's Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire and Android TV OTT channels. Here are the conference's third weekly award winners of 2019:
Offensive Player of the Week
Jakob Patterson, UAlbany – Jr., Attacker, Chandler, Ariz.
- Had a league-best six points to lead UAlbany to a 13-12 win over Drexel Saturday.
- Racked up five goals and an assist.
- This is Patterson’s first career Offensive Player of the Week honor.
Co-Defensive Player of the Week
Nick Siekierski, UAlbany – Jr., Goalkeeper, Parker, Colo.
- Made 14 saves in UAlbany’s 13-12 win over Drexel Saturday.
- Also had three ground balls.
- This is Siekierski’s first career Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Co-Defensive Player of the Week
Michael Bollinger, Stony Brook – Jr., Goalkeeper, Holbrook, N.Y.
- Stopped 12 shots in Stony Brook’s victory over Brown.
- This is Bollinger’s second career Defensive Player of the Week honor.
Rookie of the Week
David Closterman, Vermont – Fr., Attacker, Doylestown, Pa.
- Tallied four points to lead Vermont to a 20-10 win over Quinnipiac Saturday.
- Had two goals and two assists.
- This is Closterman’s third straight #AEMLAX Rookie of the Week honor.
