#AEWLAX Week #1 Awards Handed Out to UAlbany and UMBC
BOSTON – The 2019 #AEWLAX season is underway for seven programs. UMBC is off to a 2-0 start, while UAlbany and Vermont picked up wins this past week.
The majority of #AEWLAX games will appear AmericaEast.TV, the place to watch free live content on any device, including the network's Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire and Android TV OTT channels. Here are the conference's weekly award winners:
Offensive Player of the Week
Kendra Harbinger, UAlbany – So., Midfielder, Clifton Park, N.Y.
- Scored four goals, three in the second half.
- Had three ground balls and a draw control.
- This is Harbinger's first Offensive Player of the Week honor of the year.
Defensive Player of the Week
Carly Tolino, UMBC – Sr., Goalkeeper, Middletown, MD
- Made 28 saves in 2-0 week for UMBC.
- Recorded a .636 save percentage and a 7.744 GAA last week.
- This is Tolino's first Defensive Player of the Week of the year.
Rookie of the Week
Hailey Carroll, UAlbany – Fr., Attacker, Syracuse, NY
- Had three goals and seven draw controls in UAlbany's win over Yale.
- Also picked up a ground ball.
- This is Carroll's first #AEWLAX Rookie of the Week honor.
