Worcester, Mass. – Heading into the final day of the #AESD Championships, UMBC sits atop the standings in both the women's and men's competition.

Day 3 Highlights
  • Corinne Carbone earned her second championship title of the weekend in the 400 IM, touching the wall in 4:13.41. UMBC sophomore Kai Wisner captured first place in the men’s 400 IM in a time of 3:59.70.
  • UMBC sophomore Natalija Marin earned gold in the 100 butterfly with a time of 54.83 and Jack Carlisle touched the wall in 49.47, capturing first place.
  • Alexander Gliese of UMBC broke the America East Championship record in the 100 backstroke this morning during prelims and again in the finals with a time of 47.16.
  • Maine’s Juliana McDonald captured another first place finish in the women’s 200 free with a time of 1:49.09. UMBC’s Ilia Rattsev also earned another gold this weekend in the 200 free with a time of 1:37.55.
  • Madyson Popalis of UMBC took first in the women’s 100 breaststroke (1:03.78) as well as UMBC’s Connor Ganley with a time of 55.22.
  • Melissa Dingle of New Hampshire touched the wall in 55.76 to win the women’s 100 backstroke.
  • Binghamton's Amanda McGraw won the women's 1-meter event with a score of 226.30.
  • The 400-yard medley relay teams for UMBC (men) and New Hampshire (women) won gold to close out the night.
 
The final day of competition begins at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday with prelims in women’s and men’s 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard breaststroke, and 200-yard butterfly. The women’s and men’s 1650 free begins at 3:20 followed with the fastest heat in the finals. Finals begin at 5:30 p.m. and the competition and awards ceremony can be streamed live on
