Davis Reaches NCAA Top-10 in Long Jump; #AETF Week #2 Awards Announced
BOSTON – In the final window before the holiday break, Hartford competed in the Joe Donahue Games at the Reggie Lewis Center while Maine and Vermont competed at Dartmouth. Vermont placed second in men’s team scoring while Maine earned the two-spot for the women. A trio of women from all three #AETF programs posted times that rank in the nation’s top-25 in an event while three field student-athletes earned a spot among the top-20 men in select events.
Here are the conference's week #2 award winners of the 2019-20 season:
#AETF Weekly Award Winners – Dec. 17
Female Track Performer of the Week
Haleemot Adeyanju, Hartford – So., Distance, Newark, N.J.
- Won the 800m at the Joe Donahue Games.
- She ranks 16th nationally in the event with a time of 2:15.64.
- This is Adeyanju’s first career Performer of the Week nod.
Male Track Performer of the Week
Justin Liechty, Vermont – Gr., Mid-distance, Morrisonville, N.Y.
- Won the 400m dash at Dartmouth.
- His adjusted time of 49.19 is the fastest in America East this year.
- This is Liechty’s first career #AETF weekly honor.
Female Field Performer of the Week
Anna Schumann, Maine – Jr., Jumps, Moers, Germany
- Won the triple jump at Dartmouth.
- Her mark of 12.00m ranks first in the conference and 26th nationally.
- This is the first time Schumann has been named Performer of the Week.
Male Field Performer of the Week
Terrel Davis, Hartford – Jr., Jumps, Beacon, N.Y.
- Won the long jump with a mark of 7.39m – the sixth-best jump in the NCAA this year.
- Davis also won the triple jump at 14.27m.
- The junior was last named Performer of the Week on April 10.
