UMBC Highlights Week 10 #AEVB Awards

BOSTON – Hartford, UMBC, New Hampshire and Stony Brook all picked up wins last week. This week's awards are highlighted by UMBC's junior Taylor Dunn as she becomes the first #AEVB student-athlete to earn both Setter and Defensive Specialist of the Week honors. Two weeks remain in the #AEVB season. The top four teams will make the tournament and will play either Nov. 22-23 or Nov. 23-24.

  Here are the conference's weekly award winners of the 2019 season:
 
#AEVB Weekly Award Winners – Nov. 4

Player of the Week
Jenna Bridges, Hartford – Sr., MB, Exeter, R.I.
  • Recorded a total of 36 kills averaging 6.00 kills per set while averaging a .745 hitting average in a 2-0 week for the Hawks.
  • Also added 7 blocks and 2 digs.
  • This is Bridges' tenth career Player of the Week honor.
Setter and Defensive Specialist of the Week
Taylor Dunn, UMBC -Jr., S, Virginia Beach, Va.
  • For the first time in #AEVB history, Dunn becomes the first to earn both setter and defensive specialist of the week honors.
  • Had a total of 35 assists averaging 11.6 assists per set.
  • 18 digs averaging 6.00 digs per set.
  • This is Dunn's second career Setter of the Week award and first Defensive Specialist of the Week award.
Rookie of the Week
Kamani Conteh, UMBC – Fr., OH, New Castle, Del
  • Had a total of 12 kills averaging 4.00 kills per set.
  • Also had 3 digs and a block on .300 hitting in road sweep of New Hampshire.
  • This is Conteh's first career Rookie of the Week honor.
