DURHAM, N.H. - Bilal Kamal's second-half goal lifted 16th-ranked New Hampshire to a 1-0 win over Fairleigh Dickinson in the first round of the NCAA Men's Soccer Championship on Thursday evening at UNH's Wildcat Stadium.

UNH is the eighth #AEMSOC team since 2012 to advance to the NCAA Second Round and the 16th in the last 19 years. The Wildcats reached the third round in 2017.

The Wildcats will play at 10th-seeded Virginia Tech in the second round on Sunday at 4 p.m. NCAA Bracket

After dominating play, UNH (15-1-3) finally broke through in the 76th minute as Kamal, an America East All-Rookie choice, took on four defenders and blasted home a shot from 20 yards out.

UNH, which held a 26-6 shot advantage, matched their school record for wins in a season that was set in 1994 with the win.
