#AESD Week 2 Awards Handed Out

BOSTON – Nine #AESD teams competed this past week; highlighted by a Binghamton sweep in their season opening tri-meet. The VMI men’s team also picked up a win. The men’s Black Bears will kick off their season later this week.
 
Here are the weekly awards:
 
Female Swimmer of the Week
Anna Metzler, New Hampshire – Soph., IM/Free, Regensburg, Germany
  • Won three individual events, 200 free (1:51.41), 500 free (4:55.89) and the 400 IM (4:21.30)
  • Also was a member of the winning 400 free relay.
  • This is Metzler’s first career #AESD Swimmer of the Week award this season.
 
Male Swimmer of the Week
Ross Bernstein, Binghamton – Sr., Mid-Distance/IM, Bridgewater, NJ
  • Captured three individual titles in the 100 fly (51.98), 200 fly (1:56.28) and 200 IM (1:58.53) in Bearcats win over Niagara and Siena.
  • This is Bernstein’s first career #AESD Swimmer of the Week award this season.
 
Female Diver of the Week
Emily Murphy, Vermont – Jr., Diver, Greenwich, CT
  • Won the 1 meter event with a score of 232.04 and the 3 meter with a score of 231.67.
  • This is Murphy’s first career #AESD Diver of the Week award this season.
 
Male Diver of the Week
Ryan Cohn, Binghamton – Fr., Diver, Northbrook, IL
  • Won the 3 meter event (265.34) and took 2nd on the 1 meter event (259.20).
  • This is Cohn’s first career #AESD Diver of the Week award this season.
