#15 UNH Clinches #AEMSOC Tourney Bid, Earns Pair of Weekly Honors

BOSTON – New Hampshire became the first #AEMSOC squad to punch a ticket to the 2019 America Esat Men’s Soccer Championship as it earned a bid with its win at UMass Lowell on Saturday. The Wildcats, who are ranked 15th in the country, improved to 10-0-2 and are one of just four unbeaten teams left in the nation. UAlbany, Binghamton and Vermont also earned wins on Saturday.

#AEMSOC Weekly Award Winners – Oct. 21
Offensive Player of the Week
Antonio Colacci, New Hampshire – Sr., Midfielder, Bradenton, Fla.
  • Collected assists on all four of #15 UNH’s goals in a 4-0 win at UMass Lowell on Saturday.
  • The four assists tied an #AEMSOC conference game record. It’s just the third time in league history the feat has been accomplished and the first time since 2001.
  • This is Colacci’s second Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season (9/30) and second of his career.
Defensive Player of the Week
Josh Bauer, New Hampshire – Jr., Defender, Bedford, N.H.
  • Led a UNH defensive unit that allowed just three total shots and none on goal in a 4-0 win at UMass Lowell on Saturday.
  • Also scored a pair of goals.
  • This is Bauer’s first Defensive Player of the Week award of the season and second of his career.
Rookie of the Week
Oliver Svalander, Binghamton – Fr., Defender, Stockholm, Sweden
  • Scored a pair of goals in Binghamton’s 3-2 comeback win at Stony Brook on Saturday.
  • Found the back of the net just four minutes apart in the second half to erase the Seawolves’s 2-0 lead.
  • This is Svalander’s first career Rookie of the Week honor.
