Maine Sweeps #AEXC Week #5 Awards
BOSTON – Following a weekend in which the majority of #AEXC programs competed in the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown, all but two did not compete last week. Maine and Hartford were both in action at the Ted Owen Invitational hosted by Central Connecticut State. The Black Bears placed fifth and eighth in the men’s and women’s competition, respectively, while the Hawks were sixth on the women’s side and eighth on the men’s.
Here are the conference's week #5 award winners of the 2019 season:
#AEXC Weekly Award Winners – Oct. 1
Female Performer of the Week
Mackenzie Young, Maine – Fr., South Berwick, Maine
- Finished 21st at the Ted Owen Invitational in 19:24.2.
- Paced Maine to eighth place out of 19 teams competing.
- This is Young’s first career weekly honor.
Male Performer of the Week
Jacob Terry, Maine – Sr., Scarborough, Maine
- Led Maine to a sixth-place finish at the Ted Owen Invitational.
- Terry was the twelfth male to cross the finish line, doing so in a time of 27:02.1
- This is his first Performer of the Week award of the season.

Oct. 1 – Female Performer of the Week: Maine; Male Performer of the Week: Jacob Terry, Maine
