Hartford Continues Win Streak; Three Programs Earn WBB #AEHoops Awards
BOSTON – The majority of #AEHoops squads earned a league win last week, headlined by Hartford’s 2-0 stretch. The Hawks are now one of eight Division I programs with an active win streak of at least nine games.

- Hartford is 7-0 in conference play for the first time since 2009-10 when the Hawks finished America East play 16-0 and earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.

- The Black Bears have the eighth-fewest turnovers in the country.

- Vermont senior Candice Wright moved into the league's top-five in career blocks last week. She ranks fifth in the country with 3.1 blocks per game.

Jerell Matthews, Stony Brook – Sr., Guard, Chicago, Ill.
- Averaged 16.5 points and 7.0 rebounds in 1-1 week.
- Had a game-high 19 points on 50 percent shooting in win over Vermont.
- Assisted on four baskets in each of her two games played.
- This is Matthews’s first Player of the Week award of her career.
Co-Player of the Week
Blanca Millan, Maine – Jr., Guard, Santiago de Compostela, Spain
- Scored 29 points on 58 percent shooting in win over Binghamton Sunday.
- Also grabbed six rebounds.
- Millan eclipsed 25 points for the sixth time this season.
- This is her fourth Player of the Week honor of the season and sixth of her career.
Rookie of the Week
Kari Brekke, New Hampshire – Fr., Guard, Appleton, Wisc.
- Averaged 16.0 points, shooting 46 percent from three-point range in a pair of games.
- Scored a career-high 20 points on Saturday against UMBC.
- Brekke is averaging 14.0 ppg in her last six games.
- This is her second Rookie of the Week nod this season.
