Four Programs Earn #AETF Weekly Awards
BOSTON – The men’s team for New Hampshire and both squads for Vermont came out victorious in track and field this past weekend. The Wildcats won their home opener against Holy Cross while the Catamounts topped the standings at Middlebury Winterfell. UMBC and Binghamton also found success with the Retrievers placing second in men’s team scoring at the NYC Gotham Cup. The Bearcats placed second in both at the Cornell Upstate Challenge.
Here are the conference’s weekly award winners:
Female Track Performer of the Week
Lauren Trumble, Vermont – Sr., Distance, Ithaca, N.Y.
- Won the 600-meter in 1:33.79 at Middlebury Winterfell.
- Set a facility record and also a personal best.
- This is her first Performer of the Week award this season.
Male Track Performer of the Week
Brett Hoerner, New Hampshire – Sr., Distance, Manchester, N.H.
- Won the 1000m run against Holy Cross.
- His time of 2:29.08 ranks first in the conference.
- This is Hoerner’s first #AETF award of the season.
Female Field Performer of the Week
Brooke Bonney, Binghamton – Gr., Throws, Norwich, N.Y.
- Won the weight throw at the Cornell Upstate Challenge.
- Her toss of 61’10.5” met the ECAC qualifying standard and is further than any other #AETF student-athlete has thrown this season.
- This is her first #AETF award this season.
Male Field Performer of the Week
Alexios Prodanas, UMBC.- Jr., Throws, Kilkis, Greece
- Broke his own school record in the weight throw at the NYC Gotham Cup.
- His toss of 18.98m ranks second in America East.
- This is his first #AETF honor of the season.
