Hartford, Maine Remain Unbeaten in #AEHoops; Week #10 WBB Awards Announced

BOSTON – A matchup of the unbeatens in women’s #AEHoops looms large on Wednesday between Maine (11-6, 4-0 AE) and Hartford (10-7, 3-0 AE). After each team picked up a pair of league wins last week, the two will square off Wednesday night at Hartford in a rematch of last year’s championship game on ESPN3.

  • The Black Bears are 4-0 to start conference play for the first time since the 2003-04 season when they went 17-1 in league games en route to a title.

Shania Johnson, Stony Brook – Sr., Guard, Frederick, Md.
  • Averaged 21.0 points, 9.0 assists and 6.0 rebounds in 2-0 week for the Seawolves.
  • Tied a school-record with seven three-pointers in the team’s win over Binghamton.
  • Johnson also totaled eight steals and a 3.6 assist/turnover ratio in the two games combined
  • This is her fifth Player of the Week award this season and the seventh of her career.
 
Rookie of the Week
Kali Grimm, New Hampshire – Fr., Guard, Norwood Young America, Minn.
  • Averaged 14.0 points in 1-1 week for the Wildcats.
  • Scored career-high 15 points in team’s first league win of the season at UMass Lowell.
  • Shot 41 percent from the field, including 50 percent from three-point range.
  • This is Grimm's first career Rookie of the Week honor.
