Albany Sweeps First #AEXC Awards of Season
BOSTON – Vermont came out strong in the opening week of the 2018 cross country season, sweeping Albany and UMass Lowell in their home meet in St. Albans, Vermont, the site of last year’s America East Cross Country Championship.
Stony Brook’s men’s team won the Stony Brook Season Opener while the women finished second for the Seawolves. New Hampshire and UMBC also finished with weekend with strong results.
Here are the first #AEXC weekly awards of the 2018 season:
Female Performer of the Week
Hannah Reinhardt, Albany – Jr., Clarence, N.Y.
- Won the Vermont opener in 17:43.60.
- She finished 30 seconds ahead of teammate Cara Sherman, who placed second.
- Albany finished second in the meet.
Male Performer of the Week
Victor Ortiz Rivera, Albany – Jr., Barranquitas, Puerto Rico
- Won the Vermont opener with a time of 25:22.90.
- His time was 32 seconds ahead of the pack.
- The Great Danes finished the meet in second place.
