BOSTON – Conference play in women’s soccer kicked off on Sunday and saw Hartford, New Hampshire, Stony Brook and Vermont win its openers as home teams went a perfect 4-0.

Offensive Player of the Week
Kaila Lozada, Hartford – Jr., Forward, Newington, Conn.
  • Had a conference-best three points on a goal and an assist in Hartford’s 4-2 conference-opening win over UMass Lowell Sunday.
  • Hartford is unbeaten in its last seven games (6-0-1).
  • This is Lozada’s second first #AEWSOC Offensive Player of the Week award of the season (9/4) and of her career.
Defensive Player of the Week
Lydia Kessel, Vermont – Fr., Goalkeeper, Wading River, N.Y.
  • Stopped all six shots she faced in a 1-0 shutout win over Binghamton.
  • The six saves were a career high and the shutout was the first of her career.
  • This is Kessel’s first career Defensive Player of the Week honor.
Rookie of the Week
Tatum Kauka, Stony Brook – Fr., Forward, Wahiawa, Hawaii
  • Scored a key goal in Stony Brook’s 3-2 win over Maine Sunday, its first in a conference opener since 2013.
  • This is Kauka’s first #AEWSOC Rookie of the Week award of her career.
