#AEWSOC Play Begins, Week #5 Awards Announced
BOSTON – Coming off of strong results in non-conference portion of the season, conference play kicks off in women’s soccer this weekend with four league games on the slate. Hartford enters league play at 7-1-1 while is 6-4, which includes a win over Arizona, and Binghamton, winner of three in a row at 5-3-2.

Binghamton at Vermont, 1 p.m. (AE.TV)
Maine at Stony Brook, 1 p.m. (AE.TV)
UMass Lowell at Hartford, 1 p.m. (ESPN3)
UMBC at New Hampshire, 2 p.m. (AE.TV)
The majority of #AEWSOC conference games will appear AmericaEast.TV, the place to watch free live content on any device, including the network's Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire and Android TV OTT channels. Select contests will air on ESPN3 or ESPN+, home to over 55 America East school-produced events this fall.

Here are the conference's week #5 award winners:
Offensive Player of the Week
Kayla Saager, Binghamton – Sr., Forward, East Islip, N.Y.
- Scored three times in two Binghamton wins last week.
- Had the lone score, an overtime game winner, in Friday’s extra-time 1-0 win over Bryant.
- Found the back of the net twice, raising her season goal total to eight, in a 4-0 win over LIU Brooklyn Sunday.
- This is Saager’s second first #AEWSOC Offensive Player of the Week award of the season (8/27) and of her career. She also earned Player of the Week honors three times last year.
Defensive Player of the Week
Hayley Poltarak, Binghamton – Fr., Defender, Massapequa, N.Y.
- Stopped all six shots she faced in shutout wins over Bryant and LIU Brooklyn.
- Made four saves, into two in overtime, in a 1-0 win over Bryant Friday.
- Stopped a pair of shots in a 4-0 victory over LIU Brooklyn Sunday.
- This is Poltarak’s first career Defensive Player of the Week honor.
Rookie of the Week
Kayla MacKenzie, Binghamton – Fr., Defender, Highland Mills, N.Y.
- Scored the game winner in Binghamton’s win over LIU Brooklyn Sunday.
- Played every minute on the Bearcats’ back line that didn’t allow a goal in two games last week.
- This is MacKenzie’s first #AEWSOC Rookie of the Week award of her career.
