League Play Begins This Weekend; Week #4 #AEMSOC Awards Announced

BOSTON – After again faring strong in non-conference play, #AEMSOC league play begins this weekend with four league games on the slate. UMass Lowell tops the standings at 5-1-2 while New Hampshire is 5-1-1 and Vermont is 5-2-0. The River Hawks and Catamounts were both nationally-ranked last week making America East one of just six conferences with multiple teams ranked.
 
#AEMSOC Games – Friday/Saturday, Sept. 21-22
Friday: Stony Brook at Albany, 7 p.m. (AE.TV)
Vermont at UMass Lowell, 5 p.m. (AE.TV)
Hartford at Binghamton, 5 p.m. (ESPN3)
UMBC at New Hampshire, 7 p.m. (ESPN3)

The majority of #AEMSOC conference games will appear AmericaEast.TV, the place to watch free live content on any device, including the network's Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire and Android TV OTT channels. Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Serge Gamwanya, Stony Brook - Sr., Midfielder, Trondheim, Norway
  • Scored the game-winner in Stony Brook’s win over Bryant Sunday.
  • This is Gamwanya's second-straight #AEMSOC Offensive Player of the Week award of the season and second of his career.
Defensive Player of the Week
Josh Bauer, New Hampshire – So. Defender, Bedford, N.H.
  • Led a back line that allowed only one goal in a 1-0-1 week for the Wildcats.
  • Scored in a 3-1 win over Iona.
  • This is Bauer’s first career Defensive Player of the Week honor.
Rookie of the Week
Manuel Camara, Vermont – Fr., Midfielder, Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel
  • Scored his first career goal vs. Colgate Sunday.
  • This is Camara’s first #AEMSOC Rookie of the Week award of his career.
