#18 Maine, Vermont Win Twice in Burlington, Pocket #AEFH Awards
BOSTON – America East field hockey teams combined to go 11-4 on the final weekend without conference play. #18 Maine and Vermont each went 2-0 in the Catamount Classic. The Black Bears are off to their best start to a season (7-0) since 1975 when they won their first eight games. #23 Stanford and #25 Albany also picked up multiple wins while Cal slipped into the NFCHA national rankings at #25 after defeating Yale at home. America East is joined by the ACC and Big Ten as the only conferences with at least four ranked teams.
The majority of #AEFH games will appear AmericaEast.TV, the place to watch free live content on any device, including the network's Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire and Android TV OTT channels. Five contests will air on ESPN3 and ESPN+, home to over 55 America East school-produced events this fall.

Offensive Player of the Week
Libby Riedl, Maine – Sr., Midfielder, Port Moody, British Columbia
- Tallied two goals and one assist in two wins for the Black Bears.
- Named Catamount Classic MVP for her performance.
- Helped the Black Bears improve to 7-0, their best start since 1975.
- This is Riedl’s second #AEFH Offensive Player of the Week award of the season.
Co-Defensive Player of the Week
Kelsey Bing, Stanford – Jr., Goalkeeper, Houston, Texas
- Allowed one goal while making eight saves in two wins for the Cardinal.
- Recorded a shutout in 5-0 win over Yale.
- Made three saves in double overtime win over Kent State.
- This is Bing’s first Defensive Player of the Week award of the season and fourth of her career.
Co-Defensive Player of the Week
Sierra Espeland, Vermont – So., Goalkeeper, Stafford, Va.
- Saved 11 shots in two wins for the Catamounts.
- Allowed just one goal in a tight game against UC Davis.
- Only surrendered one goal against Cornell, another tight game in which the Big Red took 16 shots.
- This is the first career #AEFH Defensive Player of the Week award for Espeland.
Rookie of the Week
Nina Keur, Maine – Fr., Midfielder, Naarden, Netherlands
- Scored a pair of goals and tallied an assist in two wins for Maine.
- Scored Maine’s first goal and later added an assist against Cornell.
- The freshman now has three career goals.
- Keur was named Rookie of the Week for the first time.
