#AEWSOC Teams Go 10-1-2 For the Week, Week #4 Awards Announced
BOSTON – America East women’s soccer teams were outstanding last week, going 10-1-2 in 13 non-conference games. Albany, Maine and UMass Lowell all won two games while Hartford, Stony Brook and UMass Lowell each won their lone contest. Binghamton also went 1-0-1.
The majority of #AEWSOC conference games will appear AmericaEast.TV, the place to watch free live content on any device, including the network's Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire and Android TV OTT channels. Here are the conference's week #4 award winners:
Offensive Player of the Week
Mariah Williams, Albany – Sr., Forward, Utica, N.Y.
- Tallied seven points in two games to lead Albany to wins over Siena and Rhode Island.
- Had a goal in the Great Danes’ 3-0 win over Siena Thursday.
- Racked up two goals and an assist in a 4-1 victory over Rhode Island Sunday.
- This is Williams’ first #AEWSOC Offensive Player of the Week award of the season and first of her career.
Defensive Player of the Week
Kacey Lambertson, Vermont– So., Goalkeeper, Matawan, N.J.
- Made six saves, including five in the second half, in a shutout win over Sacred Heart Sunday.
- The shutout is the first of her career.
- This is Lambertson’s first career Defensive Player of the Week honor.
Rookie of the Week
Emily Nelson, UMass Lowell – Fr., Midfielder, Peabody, Mass.
- Scored a goal in each of UMass Lowell’s three games last week as the River Hawks went 2-1-0.
- Had the game winner in both wins, over Sacred Heart and Bryant.
- This is Nelson’s first #AEWSOC Rookie of the Week award of her career.
