Guerinot, Bishop Added to America East Staff

BOSTON – America East Commissioner Amy Huchthausen announced today the additions of Brandi Guerinot and Marcus Bishop to the conference staff. Guerinot will serve as the Associate Commissioner for Compliance & Governance/SWA while Bishop is the Assistant Director for Operations. The hires round out the America East staff for the 2018-19 academic year.
 
“Brandi and Marcus both stood out during the interview process with their experience, skill sets and passion for college athletics,” said Huchthausen. “They will be great additions to our staff as we focus on continuing to provide exceptional service to our member institutions entering a new academic year.”
 
Guerinot comes to America East from Daemen College, where she has been since 2016, including the last eight months as interim athletic director. Guerinot, a Virginia native, also served as the Sr. Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations and Associate Athletic Director for Compliance & Student Services as well during her time at Daemen. A graduate of George Washington University who earned a master’s degree from The Ohio State University, she previously held positions at the University at Buffalo, Boston College and the NCAA.
 
At America East, Guerinot will serve as the primary liaison to the league’s nine member institutions in the areas of compliance, governance and academics. She will head up all aspects of the conference’s compliance program and coordinate all legislative and governance activities, managing both conference and national issues for league members. Guerinot will also liaise with various conference committees, including the Senior Woman Administrators, Faculty Athletic Representatives, Compliance Administrators and Academic Advisors among other duties,

Bishop comes to America East after spending last year at the NCAA as a postgraduate intern in Division I Governance and National Letter of Intent and was previously a marketing and gameday presentation intern at Arizona State. He holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Alabama as well as a master’s degree in sports law and business from Arizona State University.
 
In his new role, Bishop will assist with office management and sports administration as well as oversee various championships and assist at several others. He will also support the conference’s student-athlete engagement and conference outreach initiatives and provide administrative support to conference staff.
 
“I am elated to join the America East Conference as Assistant Director for Operations,” said Bishop. “I look forward to serving the conference’s student-athletes and institutions, as well as contributing to the innovative work already put in motion by the conference staff.”
 
Guerinot will start at America East on Sept. 10 while Bishop began his role Aug. 15.
