Eugene, Oregon – Six America East student-athletes will compete in NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships beginning Wednesday, June 6. The four-day meet will be held at the University of Oregon for the sixth-straight year.

Six is the highest number of #AETF student-athletes competing at national championships since the 2016 outdoor season.

Ten-time All-American Elinor Purrier headlines the group and will run the 1,500-meter run on Thursday. The New Hampshire senior won a national championship in the mile at the 2018 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. She returns to Eugene with the top qualifying time in the 1,500 and will run again on Saturday if she qualifies.

Fellow All-Americans Keishorea Armstrong and Michael Shanahan are headed to national championships for the second consecutive season. They will compete in the long jump and hammer throw, respectively. Both seniors earned All-America status at the indoor championships this calendar year.

UMBC will be represented by a pair of javelin throwers in freshman Kelechi Nwanaga and senior Tony White. Albany junior Walter Briggs will run the 400m hurdles.

The majority of the championships will be broadcast on ESPN3 with select events showcased on ESPN and ESPN2. View live results and a full schedule of events here.
